With a camera in hand, I see things in a different way, whether it be the subject, the light, the colour or the texture that captures my attention. Sometimes, it is one thing. Sometimes in is the combination of them all. I'm based in Ottawa, Canada. Most of landscape photos are from Canada's eastern provinces and most from beautiful Newfoundland and Labrador.
I've always appreciated the boldness and vibrancy that painters add to their canvas to emphasize the salient features of a scene. Digital tools have allowed me to apply similar elements to some photographs and, in many instances, I find the creative version more interesting. Done on a nice canvas, they blend in nicely with the vibrant original paintings nearby. The photos that have received the painterly treatment are included in the creative versions flowers and landscapes galleries.
